Release scope
This release note applies only to the firmware package profile DRV15035BDV2. It covers the cumulative software changes from version 0.2.6 build 19 (0-2-6.19) through version 0.2.7 build 6 (0-2-7.6). The package includes matched application and storage images.
What’s new
Direction and drive-mode setup
- Added a guided Direction Control assistant with clearer setup, live input capture, review, activation, and completion steps.
- Added configurable Neutral direction mapping and additional safeguards for Direction Switch and Switch as Throttle setup.
- Simplified Direction Switch capture, recapture, and clearing, with immediate saving and safeguards against unsafe changes while the motor is active.
- Improved on-screen motor-output status, setup guidance, and recovery from incomplete direction configuration.
- Changed the packaged reverse output default from 100% to 70%.
Protection and motor-control reliability
- Improved protection against short current spikes, temporary overloads, and sustained high-current conditions.
- Improved protection recovery behavior after current returns to a safe level.
- Added a Power Limits on/off control with one-watt Low, Mid, and High tier adjustment. Turning Power Limits off preserves the selected tier and watt values while independent current and hardware safety limits remain active.
- Simplified current-protection configuration by removing obsolete adjustment settings.
Live status, diagnostics, and user interface
- Upgraded browser and BLE live-data delivery for faster refresh, lower display delay, smoother Dashboard animations, and consistent status and diagnostics.
- Improved Dashboard and Diagnostic power, current, voltage, throttle, and direction presentation with clearer board-aware sensing labels and Power Limit status in Diagnostic.
- Added the device MAC address to About, improved Custom Output reverse indication, and made Custom Output and Runtime Trace Plot available in Basic mode.
- Improved automatic controller recognition by supported setup and diagnostic tools.
Who should update?
This update is recommended for all DRV15035BDV2 installations currently running version 0.2.6 build 19, especially systems that use Direction Switch, Switch as Throttle, Current/Torque control, Power Limits, or live Dashboard and Diagnostic data.
Before you update
- Confirm the active board profile is DRV15035BDV2 in About or Diagnostic.
- Put the system in a safe service condition and keep motor output disabled.
- Use a stable power supply and do not interrupt either image upload.
How to update
For a normal field update, use the two matched OTA files from the DRV15035BDV2 package folder:
On the controller's OTA update page, upload the application file followed by the storage file. Reboot only when requested, clear stale browser content if prompted, and verify version 0.2.7 build 6 with current package compatibility status.
Important configuration changes
After updating, review these settings because new defaults and options may not replace saved values.
- Direction Control now includes an explicit Neutral mapping used by Direction Switch and Switch as Throttle safety checks.
- The packaged reverse output default changes from 100% to 70%.
- Power Limits are disabled by default after updating but retain the saved tier and watt values. Enable them in Developer settings when a watt ceiling is required.
- Updated the packaged protection timing defaults for improved operation during temporary current disturbances and recovery.
- Obsolete current-protection adjustment settings have been removed.
- Direction setup and saved mappings should be reviewed after update, particularly for Switch as Throttle and the new Neutral mapping.
